UmaSofia Srivastava is a beauty pageant from America who won the title of Miss Teen USA in 2023. She is the first-generation Mexican Indian from New Jersey crowned Miss Teen USA. Previously, she acquired Miss New Jersey USA in the same year. In 2022, UmaSofia became a second consecutive titleholder of Indian descent after Faron Medhi.
She returned her Miss Teen USA title because her personal values were no longer fully aligned with the direction of the organization. She posted on Instagram, “After careful consideration, I’ve decided to resign as I find that my personal values no longer fully align with the direction of the organization. I am grateful for all the support from my family, my state directors, my sister queens, and the fans who have cheered me on since I won my state title. I will always look back on my time as Miss NJ Teen USA fondly, and the experience of representing my state as a first-generation Mexican-Indian American at the national level was fulfilling in itself.”
