Thiagarajan Kumararaja is an Indian director and screenwriter who predominantly works in the Kollywood film industry. He made his directional debut with the gangster film Aaranya Kaandam in 2011, which received critics’ acclaim and won the National Film Award, Vijay Award, and Ananda Vikatan Award. He made significant contributions to movies like Aneethi Kathaigal, Yennai Arindhaal, and X: Past Is Present. Thiagarajan made his debut web series with Amazon Prime Video’s Modern Love Chennai.

In an interview, he said that the real entertainment for him was the bus ride from his home in Porur to Santhome Higher Secondary School where he used to stand next to the driver to observe and also mentioned that “I wanted to be a PTC bus driver,”.
In an interview, he revealed that he failed in Mathematics subject in his 12th board exams and he said “If I didn’t like the teacher, I wouldn’t study.”
