Sydney McLaughlin Levrone is an American athlete with five world records in 400m hurdles. She is a 24-year-old Olympic gold medalist, world record holder and wife. In the 2024 US Olympic trials, she ran 400m hurdles in 50.65 seconds and broke her previous record. Sydney’s father Willie McLaughlin is also an athlete who was in the 400m semi-finals at the 1984 U.S. Olympic trials.

  • She became champion at the age of 16 after winning the 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials in the category of world junior 400m hurdles. She created a record by finishing in 54.15 seconds.
  • Sydney became professional in 2018 and the next year, she won silver in the Doha World Championship.
