Shehzad Poonawalla is an Indian politician, lawyer, and journalist hailing from Pune, India. He began his political career in 2008 by joining the Indian National Congress (INC). He worked with the Congress media cell’s research team before resigning in 2017 due to growing disagreements with party members. Shehzad later joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and now serves as its national spokesperson. He also leads the IT and social media department for BJP Delhi. In November 2024, he wore a gas mask to draw attention to the deteriorating air quality in Delhi, raising serious concerns about the escalating pollution levels in the region.
