RJ Balaji is an Indian radio jockey, actor, comedian, and film director who predominantly works in the Tamil film industry. He began his career as an RJ on 92.7 Big FM and hosted shows like The Night Show With RJ Balaji, Take It Easy, and Cross Talk. He became famous for his cricket live commentary during the IPL season and started appearing in cameo roles in Tamil films. As an actor, RJ Balaji got his breakthrough in Vignesh Shivan’s Naanum Rowdy Dhaan and worked in other notable films including Jil Jung Juck, Devi, Kavalai Vendam, Kaatru Veliyidai, Ivan Thanthiran, and Spyder. Besides acting he also directed blockbuster films like Mookuthi Amman and Veetla Vishesham. RJ Balaji became a huge sensation after the news of him directing Suriya’s 45th film became viral.
