Ranjith is an Indian actor, director, and politician primarily known for his movies like Pandavar Bhoomi, Pasupathi C/O Rasakkapalayam, and Thambikku Indha Ooru. He is an ideal star in Tamil and Malayalam cinema who made his directional debut with the movie Kavundampalayam released in 2024. Ranjith got his moonlight for his role as Pazhaniswami in Vijay TV’s much-acclaimed serial Baakiyalakshmi. He is a confirmed contestant in Bigg Boss Tamil Season 8, hosted by Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi.

- Ranjith is also a politician who served as a member and spokesperson of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam. But a few years after the death of Jayalalithaa, he quit the party and joined the Pattali Makkal Katchi as the vice president.
- In February 2019, he quit the PMK party as it supported the AIADML in the 2019 Indian General Election and the very next day he met TTV Dhinakaran and joined the Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam party officially.
- In August 2024, he became a sensation while speaking to the media saying that caste-based honour killing is not even violence rather it’s another way for parents to care for their children. His statement created a huge uproar among the people and he later retracted his statement by saying that he opposes any form of killings.
- His performance in his debut film Pon Vilangu was praised by the audience and critics and in the following year he played the lead role in the rural drama Sindhu Nathi Poo.
