Premalatha Vijayakanth is the wife of late Indian film actor and Desiya Murpokku Dravidar Kazhagam (DMDK) president, Vijayakanth. She has emerged as a pillar of support to actor-turned-politician Vijayakanth throughout his political career. On 14 December 2023, she was appointed as the General Secretary of the DMDK by the party president. Premalatha opened up about her late husband’s references in Tamil movies like GOAT during her interaction with Cinema Vikatan. She also clarified that she nor her family will send place restrictions or copyright notices to films that pay tribute to her late husband.
