Leon James is an Indian film composer and singer who predominantly works in Tamil and Telugu film industries. He made his musical debut by composing two songs for the Kanchana 2 movie directed by Raghava Lawrence. Leon James worked in other notable films like Veera, Kavalai Vendam, LKG, Paagal, Oh My Kadavule, and Dragon. Besides composing songs he also lent his voice to songs like Ezhunthu Vaa, Kanne Kanne, Suzhaluren, Thottapuram, Kohila, Vidaadha, and Unakkaga.

• Leon’s father Noel James worked as a manager for the Oscar-winning music director AR Rahman.
• He started learning piano at the age of three and played in a college band called Zinx alongside Anirudh Ravichander.
• He started his career as a composer and has worked as a keyboardist for stage shows and film albums composed by Santhosh Narayanan, Anirudh Ravichander, and Thaman.
• He has also been a part of Project Yuj, a “neo-Carnatic funk” band alongside popular singers Aalap Raju, Prakash Hariharan, and Jeoraj George. The team released an independent album in November 2014.
• Raghava Lawrence spotted his work and offered a chance to compose music for his horror film Kanchan 2.
• He then teamed up with singer Andrea Jeremiah to record an album song called “Ezhunthu Vaa” to promote female empowerment.
• Leon James also chose to introduce Harish Sivaramakrishnan from the Bangalore-based rock band Agam and London-based singer Inno Genga, for their first respective songs in the Tamil film industry.
