GV Prakash Kumar starrer Kalvan failed to impress the audience as the story doesn’t connect emotionally. The director tried to deliver numerous subjects, from human psychology to wild animal preservation, where the first half is good but it falls apart in the second half with predictable climax. GV Prakash Kumar and Ivana did justice to their role, the combo worked well again after Naachiyaar. KPY Dheena’s comedy is good. Bharathiraja and Gnanasambandan Gurunathan did an excellent job as the supporting actors.
What’s Good
- Kalvan is a beautiful story that portrays several present-day affairs and happenings. The scenes between GV Prakash and Elephant engage the audience well.
- There are some unpredictable scenes and dialogues in the first half.
- The music and background scores played a huge part in this film.
What’s Bad
- The poor CG work took a big chunk of positive opinion from the film.
- One particular scene from the film involving a tiger was poorly created. No one finds the tiger’s presence on the screen thrilling.
