According to mythology, the Vijayadashami festival traces back to the lord Rama period and it marks the day he killed the 10-headed demon king Ravana. In some Southern and Northern parts of India people believe that the festival is to celebrate Goddess Durga who killed Mahishasuran and protected dharma.

Celebration Of Dussehra

To celebrate people light up their homes with Deepam and burn firecrackers to share their joy. In some regions, Ram Leela’s theatrical drama will be played and in the end, Rama’s character or special guest of the show will launch a fire-headed arrow toward the large idols of the demon lords filled with crackers.
