Barkhad Abdi is a Somali-American actor who overwhelmed Hollywood with his stunning performance in the biographical drama film Captain Phillips (2013). His stellar performance won the British Academy Film Award for Best Actor. Later his name was shortlisted for an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, and a Screen Actors Guild Award. Eye in the Sky, Good Time, The Pirates of Somalia, and Blade Runner 2049 are some of his notable films. He also appeared in the second season of the Hulu horror series Castle Rock.
