Ankita Pradhan is a 32-year-old lawyer and the spouse of Army Major Gurband Singh. She is the daughter of a Brigadier of the Indian Army. On September 15, 2024, Ankita and her husband were chased and assaulted by unknown persons while returning home from the restaurant late at night. So they visited the Bharatpur Police Station to complain but Ankita claims that she faced physical and s*xual harassment by the officials. Ankita also claimed that the police officer refused to file an FIR based on her complaints but later they arrested the couple for misbehaving with on-duty officers.
After this horrific incident, she was released on bail by the Orissa High Court on September 19, 2024. The court expressed serious concern about her medical treatment and ordered further examination of her injuries sustained during the incident. Later, she received medical treatment for her injuries at AIIMS Bhubaneswar Hospital. After which she boldly shared her story with the media while in the wheelchair which became a sensation on social media platforms.
