Amaran is a war thriller directed by Rajkumar Periasamy. It is bankrolled by Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan‘s Raajkamal Films International in association with the Sony Pictures International productions banner. Sivakarthikeyan of Namma Veettu Pillai fame portrayed Major Mukund Varadarajan, and Sai Pallavi played the leading lady.

It is a biopic of the late Major Mukund, who lost his life during an anti-terrorist operation in South Kashmir. He was awarded Ashoka Chakra for his braveness during his operation. As per sources, SK might die in the movie as he portrays Major Mukund, who lost his life on the battlefield.

The film’s shooting has progressed to the climax stage. The makers have allocated 20 days to film the climax portion. The film was initially planned for an August 15 release, but due to a delay in the shooting schedule, the date was pushed to September 2024.
