Amaran is an action thriller directed by Rajkumar Periasamy. It is bankrolled by Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan‘s Raajkamal Films International in association with the Sony Pictures International productions banner. Sivakarthikeyan of Namma Veettu Pillai fame portrayed Major Mukund Varadarajan, and Sai Pallavi played the leading lady as Rebecca Varghese (Mukhund’s Wife).

It is a biopic of the late Major Mukund, who lost his life during an anti-terrorist operation in South Kashmir. He was awarded Ashoka Chakra for his braveness during his operation. As per sources, SK might die in the movie as he portrays Major Mukund, who lost his life on the battlefield.

The makers have announced the release date for the movie. It will be screened in theatres from October 31, 2024, on the occasion of Diwali. The new poster shows Sivakarthikeyan covered in blood with an Indian flag in the background.
