Kanan Gill is a well-known actor, stand-up comedian, and YouTuber best known for his YouTube series Pretentious Movie Reviews. He operates a self-titled YouTube channel where he posts comedic skits, reviews of classic films, and some stand-up performances. Kanan made his big screen debut with the 2017 film Noor alongside Sonakshi Sinha. He has also appeared in TV shows such as Keep It Real, The Improvisors, Sketchy Behaviour, and more. On January 18, 2024, Kanan Gill published his debut novel, Acts of God, a comedy-science fiction story inspired by a short story he wrote in 2016-17.
Did You Know?
Before pursuing an entertainment career, Kanan worked as a software engineer at Exeter Group Inc. for three years.
During that time, he won the Punch Line Bangalore competition and later triumphed at the Comedy Store in Mumbai.
Kanan, alongside his friend Biswa Kalyan Rath, reviews classic Bollywood films which gained widespread popularity on social media.
He is also passionate about travelling to new destinations worldwide.
