Sanjay Roy is accused of r*ping and killing a postgraduate trainee doctor Moumita Debnath at the State-run RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata. He is a civic volunteer who joined the police’s disaster management group in 2019 and later transferred to the police welfare cell. He was moved to the police outpost in front of the RG Kar Medical College and had access to all departments. According to reports, he has reported violent behavior against his wives many times. He has been married four times. His fourth wife died due to cancer.
