Vinesh Phogat is an Indian wrestler who became the first Indian woman wrestler to win gold in both Commonwealth and Asian games. She comes from a famous Phogat family, which can be called the first family of female wrestling in India. Her cousins Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari are also international wrestlers and Commonwealth Games medalists. Their family became a huge sensation after Aamir Khan’s Dangal movie was released. It is based on the true incidents of the Phogat family. Vinesh made the headlines after she was disqualified from the 50kg category wrestling tournament in the 2024 Paris Olympics after being 100 grams overweight.
