Sheikh Hasina is a politician who served as the Prime Minister of Bangladesh from 1996 to 2024. She resigned and left the country on 5th August 2024 after anti-government violence that left more than 300 people dead in the country. She is the 10th prime minister of Bangladesh, who served for more than 20 years. She is the daughter of the founding father and first president of Bangladesh, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. She and her party, Awami League, won 4th consecutive term in the parliamentary elections. According to sources, her Chief of Army Staff gave her an ultimatum to resign, which she did on the same day. However, the details of the ultimatum have still not been released to the public.
