Linford Christie is an athletics coach and former sprinter who is best known as the most accomplished British athlete in history. He is the first English man to secure gold medals in all four major international competitions including the Olympic Games, the World Championships, the European Championships, and the Commonwealth Games. Christie made history as the first European athlete to break the 10-second barrier in the 100 meters and holds the record for nearly 30 years. As a coach, he guided two of his athletes Darren Campbell and Katharine Merry to Olympic and World medal victories.
