Smita Sabharwal is an IAS officer based in Telangana. She is best known by her public given name The People’s Officer. She is well known for her honest behaviour and addressing citizens’ issues. Smita made the headlines when she tweeted about PwD quotas. She said that people with disability should not have a separate quota because some people may misuse it.
Former civil servant Bala Latha Mallavarapu, who runs a training academy for AIS aspirants, has strongly opposed Smita’s comments by calling her physically fit but ethically disabled and mentally upset.
