Yuki Kawauchi is a Japanese marathon runner who became famous after finishing the Tokyo Marathon in 2:08:37. He is often called as a citizen runner because he used to work for the government of Saitama Prefecture, trained in his spare time without any sponsorship. He won the gold medal in the 2018 Boston Marathon, the silver medal in the 2011 World Athletics Championships, and the Bronze in the 2014 Asian Games.
