Zhang Ziyu is the tallest basketball player on the China team, and she is known for her height (7 feet 3 inches). She is considered the most valuable player in FIBA Under-18 Women’s Asia Cup 2024. Many basketball fans call her the “Female Yao Ming” and “Victor Wembanyama.” Chinese basketball fans criticized the head coach Wang Guizhi’s decision to make Zhang Ziyu a substitute, which resulted in their loss to Australia.
Zhang is not part of the Paris Olympics (2024) as she is only 17. As per the rules, the player must be 18 & above to participate in the Olympics.
