Vijay Kumar is an Indian actor, director and producer, who predominantly works in the Tamil film industry. He made his film debut with the Uriyadi, which is regarded as one of the finest political thrillers in Kollywood. His passion for films made him join the 2009 reality TV show Naalaya Iyakumar Season 1, but due to some reasons, he withdrew from the show. Vijay’s performance in the Election movie was critically acclaimed and praised by the audience.

Vijay began his career as a software engineer in Chennai before he stepped into the entertainment business.
During an interview, he revealed that he spent his free time analyzing films which helped him to begin his career as a filmmaker and actor.
In 2010, Vijay moved to the US and began writing the script for his film Uriyadi which was initially titled Vidiyum Varai Vinmeengalaavom.
His debut film received widespread critical acclaim and won prestigious awards like the Ananda Vikatan Cinema Award, Tentkotta Award, Norway Tamil Film Festival Award, and Behindwoods Gold Medals Direction Wall of Fame, among others.
