Oscar winner Cillian Murphy is back as Tommy Shelby. Yes, you heard it right! Tommy Shelby returns as Netflix is making a spin-off feature film of the character. Netflix officially confirmed it by posting it on X (Twitter) and captioning it as “Tommy Shelby returns. A Peaky Blinders Film starring Cillian Murphy is coming to Netflix. It seems like Tommy Shelby wasn’t finished with me…It is very gratifying to be recollaborating with Steven Knight and Tom Harper on the film version of Peaky Blinders. This is one for the fans.”
The film is being directed by Tom Harper of Heart of stone fame. He directed the first season of the Peaky Blinders Series. The script for the film was penned by Steven Knight, who created the original series. Cillian Murphy as Tommy Shelby is playing the role of gangster as he did in the series. He also produced the film alongside Steven Knight and others. As per the reports, the film go on floors from this year’s end (November 2024).
